Behind the Song
The NEW Bardots

Coming back together from their early roots in the NYC music scene (CBGB's, Max's Kansas City, China Club) to write and record together again, Gar Francis, Wayne Olivieri, Dan Skye, new drummer Johnny Rago, and keyboard player John Croot are five New Jersey veterans out to save Rock and Roll from extinction!
"Electrifying! That's how I would describe my reaction to seeing The NewBardots' Live show. The repertoire is filled with energetic, groove-filled songs. The musicianship is tight and exciting. And the personalities are explosive and contagious to watch. Complete, electrified enjoyment."
For fans who have never heard your music, can you pick three words to describe it?! If three words just aren't enough then tell us more!!
Straight ahead, no bells or whistles or auto-tune ROCK and ROLL
What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, recording, something else?) Tell us why.
Recording and performing.....just the fact to create a song from nothing and then have it turn into a real product that if at least one person takes pleasure in listening.....mission accomplished.

Can you tell us what being in the recording studio is like for you?
Considering the fact that we are mostly a recording band since covid....30 songs in two and a half years recorded. (Our Bass Player owns the studio) The studio is like a clubhouse for us .......our bass player Dan even brings his dogs...
Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing?
Me personally .......I play a little golf but mostly dabble in acting when I can....I live close to NYNY so there is a lot of background acting work in the city for TV and movies...I also enjoy writing when I can....Ive been trying to finish my book and a couple of screen plays for a while now lol.
Who do you admire most in the music scene today and why?
Kid Rock....he takes no shit and does what he wants........he is the furthest from fake as you can get.
Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it?
There is a few......On our First LP it was "The Soldier's Wife," for obvious reasons. The new LP, which wont be out till after the new year, there is a song called "God Can You Hear me" which I am very emotionally attached to.
Are you working on any new material right now or what's in the works for the upcoming year?
We never stop writting....Gar Francis (guitar) always has new ideas he brings to rehearsal...he lets me do most of the lyrics, and the band then arranges ...I believe we currently have 17 new songs recorded, and most are finished and mixed.....we just finished three new ones including the Christmas song....so we are loaded for bear...lol
