For fans who have never heard your music, can you pick three words to describe it?! If three words just aren't enough, then tell us more! Three words to describe our music would be eclectic, upbeat, and alternative. Our music is pop-y but has a lot of rock, metal, and alternative influences.
What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, recording, something else? Tell us why: My favorite part about being an artist is the songwriting. It’s my favorite because it’s the most detailed and creative process. I’ve always loved songwriting and its art form. The process of taking a small idea and creating a whole song is very rewarding. Everything about being an artist is amazing, especially performing your original songs!!
Can you tell us what being in the recording studio is like for you? Being in the studio is one of the most fun and invigorating process of being a performing artist. I am so lucky to have an amazing team, so it makes the recording process awesome. It’s also super fun when my brother and I record duets. If I were to pick my favorite part about recording it would probably be making harmonies because you get to hear the different notes come together and sound amazing. It is so exciting to see the process from conception to completion!
Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing? When I’m not doing music, I like to draw and play video games. However, most of the time I’m playing my bass, which is technically still doing music. I like to play Dead by Daylight and open world games such as Baldur's Gate.
Who do you admire most in the music scene today and why? Who I admire most in the music scene today is definitely Dave Grohl. There’s so many amazing musicians today but if I had to choose one it would be him because of his work ethic and talent. I admire his ability to play guitar, drums, bass, and many other instruments. He started his world famous band, Foo Fighters all by himself and made many albums with just him and his musical abilities. I look up to him so much and I hope to be as successful and skilled as him one day!
Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it? The song that I’ve written that had the most emotion and meaning behind it is ‘Breaks my Heart’. It is a song about a girl that was heartbroken by a guy who was manipulative and abusive. But she’s explaining how even though she went through all that pain, she can’t help but still love him. There’s a line in the song “but my heart, forgets, your unforgiving pattern.” This phrase is metaphorical for saying that she loves him so much that she ‘forgets’ the harm he’s done to her. It’s a really sad song with a meaning that a lot of people will relate with because love is hard and it sometimes hurts.
Are you working on any new material right now or what's in the works for the upcoming year? We are working on new material which includes our second EP, music videos and we plan to perform a lot more next year and possibly do our first tour!! Stay tuned!!!

About Duplexity
Duplexity is an Indie Rock duo from Beverly Hills, CA. Formed by teen siblings Savannah Judy 17 and Luke Judy 16. Luke and Savannah have been performing their whole lives but recently decided to take their talents into the studio and create their original sound. The music is inspired by 90’s alternative rock sometimes channeling a hint of metal mixed to have a modern feel. Their debut single “Billboards” is a nod to their 10- year-old child actor journey they started when moving to LA for acting opportunities. Their first EP is set to be released in October ’23 and will be an upbeat coming of age collection of songs that will speak to fellow Gen Z-ers. Both Savannah and Luke are accomplished singers who take turns on lead vocals while performing with a live band. Coming from a musical family Savannah is a bassist and they both play guitar among other instruments.
