Sam Pio
Sam Pio was born in California and began her career as a baby model in national print ads for such companies as OshKosh B'Gosh and Vertbaudet which ignited a spark in her to pursue her dream of becoming an actress, model, and musician. Her angelic voice combined with her deep faith in God has led her to become one of the top young Christian Artists in the world. Sam has performed on Christian Networks 3ABN, the International Christian Conference ASI, and most famously alongside the Goo Goo Doll's lead singer John Rzeznik on Amazon Prime's first reality movie musical It's Christmas All Over with the Goo Goo Dolls. Her most recent album Be Joyful features faith-based Christmas songs as well as her original hit Be Joyful It's Christmas. For fans who have never heard your music, can you pick three words to describe it?! I would describe my music as loving, soothing, and gentle. I also hope my music makes people feel hopeful, joyful and peaceful. What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, recording, something else?) Tell us why. My favorite thing about my Career is that I get to share the gospel of Christ because it’s my life’s purpose and when I do it makes my heart soar!
Can you tell us what being in the recording studio is like for you? Well… it’s actually quite fun! We like to joke a lot and I love laying down tracks with Jimmy my engineer. I am hands on about the instruments and melody. I like for my music to be soothing so sometimes we go back and forth on getting the right balance because he likes to make it a bit more pop than I like. We work so well together though and he really listens to me, so it usually doesn’t take us long to lay down the track. In the recording studio he gives great advise, let’s me by my authentic self and we have a blast. We always begin with prayer, and we love to celebrate when we finish. I love being in the studio. Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing? Painting, skating, watching live stories with my mom, hanging out with friends, baking, and more! Who do you admire most in the music scene today and why? Carrie Underwood and Lauren Daigle. They inspire me so much to continue my journey of singing for Christ. Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it? The most emotional song I've written is "I Need Your Love" because it’s the first song I wrote and it’s all about my life, my stresses, my faith, and how much God's love can change your life. Are you working on any new material right now or what's in the works for the upcoming year? Right now, I have an album coming out with all songs I wrote at a concert in St. Louis. Sam's next album Be the Light is set to be released in 2022. As an actress, her independent film Little May is playing in film festivals to critical acclaim and her television show Love at Work is scheduled to premiere soon on the Hope Channel. Passionate about giving back, Sam lends her voice and her time to such charities as ASI the International Missions Leadership helping people in need around the world, St. Jude in partnership with the Goo Goo Dolls, and the LA Food Bank.
