Karen Salicath Jamali

Karen is a professional multi award-winning composer, pianist, and professional American artist, for the last 30 years, born in Denmark, living and working in NYC & Florida, and a voting member of the Recording Academy. It wasn’t until an accident that caused a head injury and a near-death experience that Karen started to play music. Previously unable to play the piano, the head injury amazingly opened up a new world for Karen, and she began to play beautiful and meditative music. This music healed her. The music puts the listener into a relaxed state of consciousness.

The accident occurred in 2012 and after a long recovery in 2015, she began to hear music in her dreams and decided to record and play what she was experiencing. After 5 years of playing, the result is 7 beautiful albums and 2500+ music compositions and more than a million listeners; her latest album Sound of Angels was up for Grammy consideration in 2021 in the categories "Album of the Year" &"Best Contemporary Instrumental Album" & "Best Music Video" with the music piece "In Water." The Album “Sound Of Angels” is Inspired by the Angels . For fans who have never heard your music, can you pick three words to describe it?! Relaxing peaceful piano What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, recording, something else?) Tell us why. I Enjoying to create and recording my music then I am in my space of peace and fulfillment. Can you tell us what being in the recording studio is like for you? I record from my home on my grad Steinway piano so this is very relaxing and enjoying. Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing? I am a professional artist have been this my whole life, so when I am not playing or creating music, I am painting, sculpting, making photography, and poems; my life is art, my art is spiritual and about creating peace and healing in the media I work in It's all about creating more peace, healing, and light into this world; some people respond best to sound, some people best on visual art, and other best with the physical form and some best with words; its all energy in different forms, this is what my art is about. Who do you admire most in the music scene today and why? Oh, I love many artists but some are just going to my heart especially the cellist Hauser, Andrea Bocelli, Adele, and I love classical guitar music too just heard Ciro Hurtado there are many I love. Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it? All my songs are very emotional in fact it is emotional music I make, but one I really like is the song "In water" this piece was inspired by the Angel Gabriel which is the Angel who rules over water; water is the symbol of life and emotion. Since water is clear, it reflects whoever or whatever is looking into it like a mirror does. Gabriel also encourages people to reflect, by helping them listen to, and understand their thoughts and emotions. This music video" In Water" was up for Grammy consideration for best music video this year.

Are you working on any new material right now or what's in the works for the upcoming year?

Right now I am working on my new Album Hopes of Angels, which is inspired by the energy of different Angels. a very tranquil peaceful Album, which will be out in April. Can you give us a few places where fans can find your music?
