Faith based, Inspirational, rockish
What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, recording, something else?) Tell us why.
It would have to be songwriting as I write lyrics then collaborate with studio producers to get the song composed and recorded. It is an extremely satisfying experience to be able to work with studio producers and have them compose and produce music which exactly conveys the message and purpose of the words I have written.
Can you tell us what being in the recording studio is like for you?
I am not actually recording as explained above. But I will say that my collaborating with the producer Kevin I work with is something special. I give him the lyrics , a reference track, and a spec sheet of what I am trying to accomplish with the song. We then have a phone call to talk through all of that to make sure we are on the same page before he begins. I am always amazed that what he creates musically fits like a glove with the message I am trying to convey with the words I have written. I truly believe that the Good Lord caused our paths to cross.
Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing?
I really enjoy working with my wife at our local food pantry making sure the food insecure people of our town are taken care of.
Who do you admire most in the music scene today and why?
I guess I would have to say Bono and U2 in general. The band has been around so long and still can reach people today as they did in years past with their music. I also admire that the band and Bono are humanitarians and care about the world in general.
Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it?
I would have to pick my song titled "Why". The song is written about why am I on this planet or why am I alive. It is a faith based/Christian song which tries to explain that when I use my God given gifts and follow His plan to help others is when I feel truly alive and understand why I am here on this earth. That took a lot of years to figure out.
One of my next singles is titled "Your Gift". It is basically a tribute to my Mother and the gratitude I have for her gift of life she gave me.
