Jesse & The Hogg Brothers

If this was just a band making white trash jokes and wearing Billy Bob teeth and using fake twangs this might suck. But the beauty of the Hoggs (who are not above white trash jokes, Billy Bob teeth and fake twangs) is that they are also making super earnest country music, old time stuff, including CB trucking songs, odes to America, and Christmas songs on both albums.

"If you can't get enough of the crude Southerner comedy (and a zillion Larry The Cable Guy fans can't be wrong) meets 1968 Opry music then get both CDs. Other curious folks get the second CD, as it includes some improved versions of the "hits" from the first one. - Flamin' Waymon Timbsdayle, Rocktober

For fans who have never heard your music, can you pick three words to describe it?! Stevie Joe Hogg: Texas Cow Punk, thats 3 words Jesse Braintree: That might be 2, some folks have CowPunk as 1 word Pappy Hogg: Really? Bloomer John Hogg: Do you have any ketchup? Kenny Hogg: Shut up What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, recording, something else? Tell us why. Jesse: Performing songs we wrote that people want to hear us play for them is the best. Kenny: Pretty women Stevie: Traveling Bloomer John: Performing Pappy: Playing in New York City

Can you tell us what being in the recording studio is like for you? Jesse: It can be stressful when you are trying to do too much but for the most part, I enjoy the building process and having songs kind of have a life of their own. Working with Alex Allinson @ The Bridge Sound and Stage in Cambridge MA, since 2014, it kind of feels like an apartment I never sleep at. Pappy: Really, well nobody cares, Next Question!! Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing? Bloomer John: I love cars, especially VW's. Kenny Hogg: Me too I got me my VW VAN ready for the holidays, and my Porsche is always ready for the ladies. Stevie Joe: Bicycling, hiking and I an a huge fan of Worlds Largest Things like the Ball Of Paint I saw recently with Jesse. It was incredible, we painted the 27,573rd layer and the Oak Ridge Boys had visited there before us, as they signed had the wall there, just like we did. Pappy: I like watching my tropical fish while eating pizza and beer. Who do you admire most in the music scene today and why? Jesse: The dictionary defines admire as : to respect and approve of someone or something. The hard part is the "and", however Dwight Yoakam fits well because he has played with old time greats like Buck Owens as well as today's stars. Kenny: The guy who dates the most beautiful women. Pappy: I agree. Stevie Joe: I guess so . Bloomer John: Hank Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it? : I wrote a Christmas Song for our 1st album called "Everybody Loves When It's Christmas" and there hopefully will never be another song that makes me cry like this one did. It is a song about mother dying on Christmas and how it ruins the holidays forever. While I still love Christmas and always will, it made me think of my mom when we recorded it and I just could not hold back.

Are you working on any new material right now or what's in the works for the upcoming year? Jesse: Absolutely, besides this long awaited release of "Biker Ann" as a singleand the upcoming video of it, up next has our fans purring as JESSE & THE HOGG BROTHERS - LOVE CATS CD is coming out in November of 2021, and it features my good friend singer songwriter Hansen Barlow and we play his song "Domestic Short Hair" and other cat related tunes. The Video for the song is going to become a classic for fans of felines.

In 2022 we are releasing our 1st album in Spanish and finally after many delays, some pandemic related, we will be in the movie "Attack Of The Killer Chickens" Stevie Joe: Christmas Is Coming. Kenny: Hope to see y'all on the road especially the women! Stevie Joe: Me too! Bloomer John: I'm making scented candles with my cousin; I got some with me here, this one is pine maple. Pappy: We know, now put that stuff away, Bloomer John: Put it away? Pappy: You heard me, now shut up, and pick all the rest of your stuff, we've got to go, thanks for talking with us.
