He has had the pleasure of singing at the Tennessee State Fair, Rocky Gap Music Festival and CMA Fest. Gary has been the opening act for such greats as Dwight Yoakum, Pam Tillis, Lorrie Morgan, Ronnie Milsap, Neal McCoy and Crystal Gayle to name a few. For fans who have never heard your music, can you pick three words to describe it?!
heartfelt, emotional, fun, inspirational
What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, recording, something else?)
performing and writing
Can you tell us what being in the recording studio is like for you?
Exciting, because new music is being made for people to listen to. It's like new babies being born. No other song is exactly alike. Each time in the studio I grow as an artist. The first time I was nervous. The next time less and now it helps me to learn new things about myself vocally and new things about my writing.
Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing?
Relaxing on a beach, being with family and friends. I also own and operate a floral retail shop and it is also a fun part of my life.
Who do you admire most in the music scene today and why?
I admire those Artists who stand the test of time. Those that have been in the business and continue to do what they do and love. I admire Dolly.....who wouldn't?
Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it? From the new album...Two songs come to mind..."To Find Us" a duet I wrote about why things don't work out in life the way you expect them to...it's because God has better plans for you. The other is my newest single "When It's Our Love That's Lost" A true story in a way- I was in a relationship and we were having difficulties. I was thinking about leaving, but then they got sick and was in the hospital and was not doing well at all. This put things in perspective and not only was our love lost but I almost lost the love of my life. Sometimes pride gets in the way. We all make mistakes.
Are you working on any new material right now or what's in the works for the upcoming year?
I have a few things I'm working on - A Christian Song is in the making- would like to find a Christian writer to co-write with. I also have a song I am writing about my Father
Can you give us a few places where fans can find your music?
