Endo Collinz

Endo Collinz, a 26-year-old artist hailing from the tranquil Caribbean island of Curacao, embarked on his musical journey at the tender age of 5, when his father, the leader of an Orchestra and Big Band on the island, gifted him a trumpet. Remarkably, by the age of 8, he had already begun taking center stage, even performing for the Queen of Holland. His talents extended to local musical productions like Les Miserables and Into the Woods.

Upon completing high school, Endo embarked on his professional artist career, gracing numerous local clubs and bars with his captivating performances. As his artistic journey evolved, he delved into songwriting, production, and live renditions of his original compositions. This evolution eventually led him to make the bold leap to Los Angeles, a move motivated by his desire to further hone his craft.

Endo Collinz's music is a captivating fusion of pop, trap, and R&B, infused with vibrant splashes of Latin and Caribbean influences. His unique blend of genres offers a fresh and dynamic musical experience. For fans who have never heard your music, can you pick three words to describe it?! If three words just aren't enough then tell us more!!

It's difficult to find 3 words to describe the music that I make, as I feel like it is transforming and changing with me on this journey. You can even hear the transformation process in my First EP that was released which has a mix of different colors and feelings. The type of music can be generalized as smooth, simple, and seductive.

What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, recording, something else?) Tell us why.

I love having my hand in the creative process as well as the sharing aspect of making music. To be able to bring an idea to life and then to see it being shared and received is the reason why I choose to be an artist everyday.

Can you tell us what being in the recording studio is like for you?

Being in the recording studio is both exciting and challenging at the same time. The excitement comes from seeing the idea that was birthed in the bedroom come to life. The challenges I face when in the studio is to technically and emotionally perform the song as organically as possible.

Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing?

I love working on my physical body and being active. Since I'm from the beautiful Caribbean, I love swimming and eating good food.

Who do you admire most in the music scene today and why?

I admire different artists in different genres for different reasons. There is so much to learn from how artists built, grew, and overcame many obstacles in their lives. I have many artists I listen to for musical inspiration such as The Weeknd, Chris Brown and Bad Bunny. I love the authenticity.

Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it?

"I'll Be There" is a song I wrote when I was struggling with my mental health. So many people are going through depression, anxiety, loss etc and the common factor was the feeling of loneliness that they feel. "Don't know which way you're going. You try to control but you can't. Nobody has shown you no mercy. But baby, please understand that I'll be there." I'll Be There is a song of encouragement - a gentle reminder - that there is someone there to just be there and understand.

Are you working on any new material right now or what's in the works for the upcoming year?

We are currently working on the new EP with an evolved sound. As I mentioned before, as I am growing and transforming, I see this in our new music. The new EP will be out in October of 2023.
