Ava Kolker
Born in California, AvaKolker has been acting since she could walk and talk. Her first screen role came in the first season of "American Horror Story" at the age of four. Since then, Ava has worked on many different movies and television shows, including her major guest star recurring role on all three seasons of the Emmy-nominated Disney television series, "Girl Meets World", and most recently, her series regular role on "Sydney to the Max" where she played Olive for 3 seasons. Next, she will be seen in the feature film "Manifest West," coming out on Nov 11. In addition to acting, Ava is a Singer/songwriter who has 5 original singles out and will be coming out with one more “All to Myself,” on Nov 4. When not acting, Ava enjoys the outdoors, such as playing tennis, hiking, swimming, and going to the beach, as well as working on her black belt in mixed martial arts.

What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, recording, something else?) Tell us why.
I love the process of coming up with a concept and seeing my idea or what I want to express come to life and end up being something I am proud to share. I love the creating part of being an artist.
Can you tell us what being in the recording studio is like for you?
It’s my happy place. I could be in a recording studio for 10 hours and still not be ready to leave. I absolutely love it.
Okay, this a fun question. When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing?
I love doing martial arts, actually working on my black belt, and I love to play tennis and to be outdoors with my family and to hang out with my friends. I also love just quiet time at home with my pups.
Who do you admire most in the music scene today and why?
I love that so many artists cross genres and come up with such unique styles. I feel like the music scene today is filled with so many multi talented artists and I am constantly inspired to grow and learn from them all.
Can you tell us what song you've written that is the most emotional and describe the meaning behind it?
Yes, that’s an easy one. I wrote a song called “ahead of me” and it describes the healing process after I lost my 15- year- old cousin to cancer. He was my best friend and losing him was absolutely one of the most painful experiences of my life. So, after a few months I wrote this song to talk about the pain of the loss but also the hope for a better day in the future where I can look at the memories I made with him and take him with me in my heart for the rest of my life in what the future that will be “Ahead of Me”.
Are you working on any new material right now or what's in the works for the upcoming year?
I am working on an ep, which I hope I can release in early 2023 so definitely stay tuned on that. I have already written quite a few songs that will go on it, so I am really excited to share those with the world.
